Minnie Money
As a sheltered young woman, you were surprised when your parents (Montgomery and Elizabeth Money) agreed to let you accompany them on a trip to the West. After leading a very conservative childhood in Chicago, you were promised that when you turned 18 you would get the opportunity to travel. Because of this promise, you insisted on joining your parents on this business venture to Deadwood and they agreed. Although your father claims that this is a business trip, you suspect that he has other motives. Although your father has told you that he is considering investing in the land in and around Deadwood, you have never known him to want anything to do with the West or “it’s people”. Unfortunately, your father got delayed in St. Louis earlier this week, but you and your mother arrived on time and have spent the week together in Deadwood. Regardless of your parents’ business matters, you are in Deadwood to have a little fun and to see the land. This week, you have spent a great deal of time viewing the poker tournament. You have snuck out to the saloon after your mother has gone to bed each night and have a new found fascination with wild and rugged men. Along with others, you and Mitch Maverick (a gambler in the tournament) have had a short-lived affair and shared many secrets with one another. One secret that Mitch told you was that he was cheating in the poker tournament with Clay Coldwell (another gambler). Mitch had promised Clay half of any winnings that he was awarded, but Mitch also let you know that he was planning to keep all of the prize money for himself. Despite your close bond with Mitch, your relationship with him ended last night when Mitch started giving you the cold shoulder. After being ignored, you snuck up to Mitch’s room last night and saw Holly Hickok (a female gambler) leaving Mitch’s room. You confronted Mitch and the two of you argued. He ended any shred of a relationship that was still there. With your dance card open, you plan to shift your sights to a new man, Clay Coldwell. Not only will becoming close to Clay make Mitch jealous, but also Sally Starr (a saloon girl). You have noticed that Sally fancies Clay, but often has to overlook Clay for higher-paying customers. Since you will not be charging for your dances, you believe that you can give Clay the attention he deserves, while earning some attention for yourself from Mitch - the man you truly desire.
As the Deadwood Poker Tournament Party approaches, you are looking forward to attending. Not only will the party be a great place to mingle with friends (and enemies), but with all of the colorful characters that have made their way to Deadwood this week. It is certain to be a rootin’ tootin’ good time!
Acting and Dressing Your Part:
Originally a conservative girl from the East, you have found and adopted a certain flare and spunk while visiting the West. Because of your background, your clothes are fancy, straight-laced and feminine. By nature, you are outgoing and you love to attract attention and cause controversy. A true free spirit, you will do as you please, despite whom it may upset. While at the party, you will refuse to let others hinder your actions.
